Our story.

Founded in 2001, bioshield was born to challenge convention and disrupt heavily chemical-based markets with innovative and plant-based bio-security products.

Over the last two decades, the offering has expanded, providing natural alternatives across multiple industries, striving for more environmentally friendly solutions that will help big businesses around the globe reduce their emissions, reduce their footprint and ultimately create a more sustainable future for generations to come.

In February 2022, Brent and Neil acquired and became the managing partners of bioshield, expanding the offering further, passionate about delivering more innovative plant-based solutions that will help global businesses with their ESG initiatives. They’re committed to finding sustainable service solutions that help companies become more environmentally friendly but, most importantly, while still improving their operational performance and profits.

Over the years, bioshield has seen incredible pioneering success. In 2018 the founding partner and visionary for the business was featured in a global list of ten ‘Brilliant People of Food’, and most recently, bioshield was a finalist for the SOFHT awards and won “Logistics Partner of the Year” .

Clean technology plays an essential role in sustainable development, preserving the environment and working towards a sustainable future.

Clean technology, in short cleantech, is any process, product, or service that reduces negative environmental impacts through significant energy efficiency improvements, the sustainable use of resources, or environmental protection activities.

Cleantech products or services are those that improve operational performance, productivity, or efficiency while reducing costs, inputs, energy consumption, waste, or environmental pollution.

Green tech–or green technology–is an umbrella term that describes the use of technology and science to reduce human impacts on the natural environment.

The goal of green tech is to protect the environment, repair damage done to the environment in the past, and conserve the Earth’s natural resources.

Green tech is related to cleantech, which specifically refers to products or services that improve operational performance while also reducing costs, energy consumption, waste, or negative effects on the environment.

At its simplest, biotechnology is technology based on biology – biotechnology harnesses cellular and biomolecular processes to develop technologies and products that help improve our lives and the health of our planet.

Modern biotechnology provides breakthrough products and technologies to combat debilitating and rare diseases, reduce our environmental footprint, feed the hungry, use less and cleaner energy, and have safer, cleaner and more efficient industrial manufacturing processes.

Our secret formula – the power of an orange.

Introducing the orange…the secret ingredient (not really that secret!) that has unlocked the potential for an all-natural, plant-based world.

Our sanitising and purifying solutions are all made from the pith and peel of oranges. It combines all organic compounds, natural bioflavonoids, and organic acids. The natural bioflavonoids are Neohesperidin, Naringin, Poncirin and Rhiofolen. The organic fruit acids are Malic, Citric, Ascorbate and Lactic.

What started as a waste product has become the key ingredient in our all-natural, long-lasting sanitising solution. Creating a solution that not only kills 99.99% of all bacteria, yeast, fungi, viruses, protozoa, and spores, but best of all, its antimicrobial properties last on surfaces for up to 30 days – keeping every surface it comes into contact with, free from pathogens for a month.

And by simply changing the molecular formula, the solution has been adapted to suit various uses: from misting to food wash to water purification and beyond.

This all-natural, long-lasting product is unique and incomparable with anything else on the world stage.

Future ambitions.

Always striving to find new and innovative ways for businesses to improve their eco credentials and operational performance, we’re currently working towards our next phase of trialled innovations.

We’re in the beta phase with a robotics team, looking to automate the distribution of our all-natural sanitising and purifying solutions to reduce operational ‘downtime’.

We’ve also been approached to commission new technologies and new formulations of our sanitiser to break into new markets that are currently untapped.

We love exploring the possibilities of bringing long-lasting natural solutions into heavily chemical-based industries, eradicating the need for harsh chemicals in and around people, animals and produce.
